There is only one level of true categorization: that of architectural patterns into architectural metapatterns (of which there are 15 to 19, depending on the level of detalization, that I know of). Everything else is just for convenience of formatting the book.
And I don't see any way to clusterize design patterns or idioms - the patterns that don't belong to the system scope. My theory relies on the universal system of coordinates in the universal design space - which holds only for architectural patterns only because all of them have the same scope (are system-wide, and all the systems have the same bird's-eye view).
